I've seen enough WWII documentaries and interviews with veterans from all sides to know that War Is Shit no matter what Hollywood and government spin.

I also find guns in films tiresome, because it's a form of product placement (the Desert Eagle still rocks of course).

Anyway, I "enjoy" a good gunfight as much as the next person. But I've often wondered how it goes in a non-war scenario. This guy seems to know:

    An interesting read IMO.

Interesting stuff, also a little frightening.

I do remember reading somewhere (I don't have the source to hand -- sorry) that most people who are shot in their own homes (US only) are shot with their OWN weapon. Apparently people who buy a gun for 'home defense' are rarely able to bring themselves to actually shoot someone. The article (i'll find it I promise) goes on to talk about how when confronted with an unarmed intruder, a lot of people hesitate to shoot them and so the intruder takes the weapon away from the homeowner and shoots them instead.

And they say guns save lives.

    The Gun Debate-
Wow-I read that somewhere to, JB-

The thing I find huromus- The US has adopted all these permit and waiting peiord laws-
Yet the rate of shootings hasn't gone down at all!!

    Why??
Because- If I'm a street hustler-I'm not exactly going to purchase a handgun from The Smith & Wesson store at the local mall and then put my name on it,-
Most buy their guns black market- How are ban's hurting the black market? It's not-If anything even private citizens are buying there guns from shady sources, to avoid the hassle of paper work ...
    It's hillarious how Polictian's think-

I am so glad they outlawed handguns in the UK. At least now, if you have one, you ARE a criminal already. I don't trust people here to drive cars responsibly, never mind buy a gun.

I've never heard it used in that context before.

Oh, ok, I get it. But a six sided shape is a hexagon. A cube is a six sided object. So there's only six sides to the problem?

    No kidding.
